Thread No.20 is used for working the simple crochet braids and and needle lace filling stitches. Size 40 is also used in some of the needle lace stitches. Then, you need muslin to transfer the pattern from the paper onto it. The size of the muslin should be plus 2 inches all around,11.25" x 8.5"(28.3cm x 21.4cm). The transfer can be done with carbon paper or with an iron-on transfer pen. You also need sewing thread and a sharp pointed needle to baste the corded braids on the fabric patter.
